Map of Foothills East. A poster sized version will be at the May 2nd neighborhood meeting,
In 2011 the city of Boise and the Bureau of Land Management teamed up to conduct the wildfire hazard assessment of more than 500 homes in the Foothills East neighborhood between Military Reserve and Castle Rock Reserve.
According to the city’s website, “The level of fire risk was evaluated by high school students using computerized software based upon conditions such as roof and siding materials, slope, type and size of landscaping/vegetative fuels, fire hydrant proximity and other similar factors.”
City officials will be on hand to explain the ratings for the homes and an opportunity for reducing wildfire risks around your home.
The East End Neighborhood Association needs your help. The annual neighborhood meeting is coming up on Wednesday May 2 and we need volunteers to help get the word out by delivering fliers to every residence in the East End. If you like taking walks please consider “adopting” one of our delivery routes. They typically can be completed in an hour or so. Please contact Lee Honsinger at 387-1729 for details and to volunteer. Your support is much appreciated.
