Make a splash Friday, June 1, for opening day at Boise’s six municipal outdoor pools. Doors open at 1:30 p.m.

The outdoor municipal pools are operated by the Boise Parks & Recreation Department.  All pools are staffed by certified lifeguards. Pools are located at:

• Borah Pool, 801 Aurora.
• Fairmont Pool, 7929 Northview
• Lowell Pool, 1601 N. 28^th St.
• South Pool, 921 Shoshone
• Natatorium and Hydrotube, 1811 Warm Springs Ave.
• Ivywild, 2250 Leadville

Swim classes are available at all six pools. Eight 25-minute classes are offered Mondays-Thursdays in two-week sessions. Classes are taught by certified instructors.

Youth season swim passes start at $30 for Boise city residents. Family passes and non-resident passes also are available.

Boise Police report that they believe the juvenile mountain lion shot and killed by officers Monday night was the same one who had been sighted multiple times in and around the East End over the last several days.  Here is a link to the story:

There have been several sighting of a young mountain lion in and around the East End in the last 4 days.  If you see a mountain lion call Boise Police or Idaho Fish and Game right away. Here is a link to a story in the Idaho Stateman:
