Dona Larsen Park Update: First Season of High School Football
A few recent developments on Dona Larsen Park have occurred so here is an update.

The facilities are in place to the point they are clearly recognizable in the above photo: the football gridiron, a softball field, track and field facilities, and next to Broadway Avenue a few dozen parking spaces. We don’t have new information on parking yet, so check back on this website later in the summer. We do have a schedule of the upcoming football games, so East End residents can plan for the increased traffic swarms in the Broadway & Front area as spectators look for an easy place to park.
The first game dedicating Dona Larson Park will occur on Friday, August 24 and will appropriately be Boise v. Borah. That is an intracity rivalry since Borah High School opened its doors in the late 1950s.
At left is a photo of the 1964 game program. This program is on display at the City Peanut shop on Bannock Street in downtown Boise.
Dona Larsen Park will be the home field for Boise, Borah, Timberline and Capital high schools. Based on the published schedules for each team we compile the list of game dates, which include eight Thursday games, nine Friday games and one on Saturday. The Saturday, September 22nd game is set to work around the Boise State v. BYU game which is on Thursday Sept. 20th.
