East End Board Meeting – Public Welcome @ Adams Elementary School

Please come join us for the East End board meeting.  The event usually happens the 4th Tuesday of each month, 7pm, at Adams Elementary School.

Summer location for June/ July/ Aug meetings is at Quarry View Park, 7pm.

Meetings are not usually held in Dec.  Please check the calendar or contact a board member if you are wanting to confirm a meeting date.

Savor Idaho @ Idaho Botanical Garden

In partnership with the Idaho Wine Commission, the Idaho Botanical Garden welcomes back Savor Idaho, Idaho’s premier wine and food event. Savor Idaho will feature delicious foods served from local restaurants and savory wine tastings from fabulous grapes grown right here in Idaho. Featured wines will be available for purchase. Must be 21 or older to attend.

The Garden will be closed for regular admission to the public.

IBG Members: $40* only in March

IBG Members must purchase tickets at the Idaho Botanical Garden to recieve discount through the month of March.

Summer Brown Bag Lecture Series @ Old Idaho Penitentiary

Summer – Brown Bag Lecture Series

This series includes twelve lectures by celebrated experts on unique aspects of Idaho history, covering a wide range of topics of interest to a variety of age groups. The Brown Bag lectures take place the second Tuesday of each month from noon to 1:00 p.m. From June through August they take place at the Old Idaho Penitentiary and September through May the lectures take place at the Idaho State Historical Museum.

The Brown Bag Lecture Series is sponsored by the Friends of the Historical Museum. Regular admission fees apply.  Friends of the Museum and ISHS members are free.

Admission may be purchased in advance online or by calling or visiting the Garden office:

Garden Box Office Hours: Monday-Friday from 9-4 p.m.

You can purchase tickets online. After reaching the Great Garden Escape online ticket purchasing page, choose your concert date. Members must sign in or log in to receive the member rate. The discout will show up at checkout. Call the Garden at 343-8649 if you have trouble purchasing. Tickets will be available at will-call open during Garden hours and the night of the concert.

Tickets may also be purchased at the gate the night of the concert.
Seating is limited in the Meditation Garden

This is an outdoor concert series and the concerts will be performed rain or shine. Please dress for the weather.

Please bring low back chairs (no more than 8″ off the ground.) If you require a higher chair, you will be asked to sit in the back or on the outer edges. We want to provide the best concert experience possible for our guests and members.

First Annual Garden Gala @ Idaho Botanical Garden

Garden Tour and Garden Gala 2013

 

Enjoy a variety of delightful private gardens in Boise. Now in its 27th year, the Garden Tour is a fundraiser for the Idaho Botanical Garden, its plants and programs.

The 2013 Garden Tour features six Boise homes in addition to the BLM Fire Wise Garden neighboring the Idaho Botanical Garden.

New this year, the Idaho Botanical Garden is pleased to announce that northwest gardening expert Ciscoe Morris will visit the Garden Tour and the first Garden Gala!

Have dinner with Ciscoe Morris. Enjoy cocktails, dinner, dessert from Le Bisou Sweets and live music in Skip & Esther Oppenheimer’s private garden. Special tribute rose bushes will be for sale in honor of the Jane Falk Oppenheimer Heirloom Rose Garden at the Idaho Botanical Garden. Renowned pianist Del Parkinson will present a short performance. Tickets are $100 and include admission to the Garden Tour. Contact the Garden at 343-8649 for more information.

Once a month, the Garden invites vintners, chefs, and musicians, to showcase Idaho fruits and labor. Grab a glass or bottle of wine to share with friends, sit in on a garden cooking demonstration, or find a shady spot to enjoy local musicians at their best. Dinner will be available by the guest chef or separate vendor.
